How The Chamber Works
The Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organisation, run by the members for the members. It is led by an Executive Committee, which is chaired by the President and has ten other members. Reporting to the Executive Committee are the Marketing & PR Group and the Events Working Group.
Membership of the executive is made via application and CV once an ordinary member has been an 'active' member for at least one year and meets the advertised role specification. Membership of the working groups is based upon relevant professional experience and again an application process is required.
The Chamber's day-to-day business is managed by the Chamber Administrator. Overall administration involves the president, two vice presidents and the chamber administrator.
All posts are filled on a voluntary basis except for the chamber administrator to whom an hourly fee is paid while the Chair of the Marketing and PR group is paid a small honorarium.
