Our guest speaker for our first ever August breakfast meeting is Diana Horner who will be sharing insight around '10 things I wish I had known before starting my own business'.

Diana has professional experience in a variety of sectors, including media, tourism, events and sponsorship where her specialist expertise includes: event programme development, event production, web strategy, SEO and social media for SME's.

In recent years she has focused on creating and producing business events including the Small Business Show, Enterprising Woman, and consultancy for clients. She is also Director of KMD Consultants (founded 1999) which offers web design and development and whose clients include Northern Racing Group, City College Brighton, The Fulbright Commission, EduCulture and Beads Unlimited.

Not one to rest on her laurels, Diana is currently in the throes of launching a new B2C website with KMD, RestaurantGifts.com, an e-commerce site selling gift cards and instant e-gift certificates on behalf of restaurants which will be launched in October 2009.

Diana has particular interest in entrepreneurship for young people and community enterprise and is an Associate Lecturer at University of Brighton (International Event Management, BA and MA).
