Building the Future of Construction in Brighton & Hove
Securing tender opportunities in uncertain times

Gain further insight and understanding of how local construction suppliers can become fit to supply the public sector.

This seminar hosted by Tina Perfrement, Managing Director, Perfrement Environmental Consulting Ltd, who will focus on the practical knowledge and skills needed to submit effective public sector tenders and will include a presentation and facilitated discussion and networking.

The presentation will include:

  • The buyer's perspective about local supply and sustainable purchasing issues in the UK
  • Who is asking the public sector to improve their sustainability performance and why
  • Challenges around 'value for money' vs 'sustainability'
  • The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report
  • The Stern Report
  • Public sector waste management requirements
  • Percentage CO2 reduction for LA operations (NI185)
  • Energy Rating Certificates
  • Sustainable operations on the government estate targets

The facilitated discussion will help attendees understand how they can help the public sector to deliver on this agenda by finding out:

  • What they think their sustainability impacts are;
  • What they are doing right now about those impacts;
  • What hinders them doing more about those impacts; and
  • How they might pitch their sustainability performance in upcoming tenders?
