Enterprise Thursday - Polar Bears, Jellyfish Stings and Extreme Fundraising

Polar Bears, Jellyfish Stings and Extreme Fundraising
Dan Martin, 28, is part athlete, part adventurer, part charitable machine.
From an early age he threw himself into sport, making it to representative levels for both rugby and swimming. After a string of injuries in 2004, Dan stumbled into adventure endurance.
He undertakes adventures of endurance, touching the lives of people he meets and raising money for good causes.
A teacher by trade, Dan hopes his expedition will be of educational value and raise money for charity, improving the lives of underpriviledged children. Dan has undertaken two incredible cycling feats in the past couple of years: from Korea to Cape Town last year and London to Cape Town the year before - covering over 55,000 kilometres across the two trips.
On 8th May 2010 Dan will be setting out on his biggest fundraising challange to date: a Global Triathlon!
This will include a tran-Atlantic swim from New York to France, followed by an inter-continental cylcle from France to Alaska and finish with a trans-continental run from Alaska to New York!
Time: Doors open at 5.30pm, talk starts at 6.00pm
Venue: Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) at Sussex Univeristy Campus
