The 'Education Means Business' Breakfast

Phil Frier has been the Principal of City College Brighton and Hove since August 2007.

Phil’s career includes more than three decades of working in education, with previous roles including Executive Director at Sussex Downs College and a Chief Examiner for the Examination Board Edexcel.

City College, situated in the heart of Brighton, attracts around 9,000 students a year on a wide range of vocational and higher education courses – from construction to catering, hospitality to hairdressing. More than 400 of its students study Foundation Degree courses.

In addition, the college works with more than 200 employers in providing support for partnerships as well as for employee training in customer service, business and digital media.

At this inspirational Chamber breakfast, Phil will share his view of the role of the college in the city, as well as its work with employers and individual students.
