The 'Spotlight on Social Enterprise' Supper

Greet, meet and eat at the all-new Chamber Spotlight Supper
We’re delighted to announce a new way to network and spotlight the businesses that help make our City what it is – the Chamber Spotlight Supper.
The Hove Kitchen will host this monthly event with their locally-inspired menu and, because this is a Chamber event, we’ll throw in a friendly, relaxed and informative atmosphere that we hope will soon become a fixture in your networking calendar.
Every month we’ll ask a different business to speak candidly about their reasons for being, the challenges they’ve met and their top tips for success.
To kick off, we’ll be inviting three local social enterprises to step into our spotlight and talk about building and running successful social enterprises in Brighton and Hove.
Social enterprise – that is, a business driven by a social or environmental purpose – is not just another buzz word. There are 62,000 of them in the UK and they contribute £24bn to the economy. The competition they face is the same as in other industries, but the big difference is that all profits they make are reinvested towards achieving their social purpose.
Talking openly about the highs and lows of running a social enterprise in Brighton and Hove will be:
- Andy Winter, Director of Brighton Housing Trust
- Karen Barford, Business Development Manager at Care Co-Ops
- Judith Cousin, CEO of Strategy at The Business Community Partnership
We hope you’ll leave the Spotlight Supper inspired, informed… and pleasantly full.
We look forward to seeing you there!
