My speciality is the written word and the use of plain English. Jargon is the enemy. My mission is to make my work accessible and meaningful to everyone who reads it. Contrary to popular belief, using obscure terms and writing over-long sentences does not make you sound big or clever. In fact, it alienates your audience - reducing your ability to get your message across.
I've been working in the media for over 20 years, as a journalist, editor and PR, writing and editing copy for newspapers, websites, magazines, annual reports, press releases, brochures and adverts. I also offer communications strategy advice, including how to get the best results from social media.
My clients include Visa, Microsoft, The Guardian, the Department of Health, Reuters, Experian, Logica, Reed Business Publishing, EMAP and the Local Government Association, to name a few.
