BHCC host third annual State of the City event

Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce is organising its third annual State of the City event, to be held at 5.45pm on 23rd June at the Sallis Benney Theatre.

State of the City is an opportunity for members of the business community to have their say about what’s happening in Brighton and Hove. Tony Mernagh of the Brighton & Hove Business Forum will provide a presentation about where we are at the moment, and then we will have a ‘Question Time’ format for businesses to put forward their points and questions about current issues and plans for the city. The evening’s debate is being facilitated by Roger French, OBE, managing director of Brighton & Hove Bus and Coach Company.

The previous events have had around 120 participants, and have attracted great feedback. Businesses have felt better informed about what’s happening in the city, and importantly have been able to understand why certain things are planned because the event provides context and explanations form the people who matter.

We have put together a wide ranging panel of people who can help us to give the right answers.

Brighton & Hove Chamber president, Julie Stanford says, ‘We are really pleased to be able to host State of the City again this year. It gives us business owners a rare opportunity. Not only do we hear about how we are faring as a city, but we also get the chance to ask questions of the influential people who are there as panellist or VIP guests. Invaluable

This is the first event myself and colleagues attended as we are new to the Chamber.

We found the discussion extremely informative and it was great to get an idea of the local market from a number of perspectives.

It's so important to keep informed about business in the local area at the moment that we found it invaluable. An event not to be missed and we will definitely attend again next year.
