Submitted by eleanor-beeton on Thu, 30/06/2011 - 15:14.
On Wednesday 20th July the local Innovation & Growth Team (ESBHIGT) are holding an "IGT Fab Lab Revealed" Event at Rodhus Creative Studios on Hollingdean Rd, Brighton.
Keynote speakers at the event include Caroline Lucas, Green MP, Trevor Baylis, inventor of the wind-up radio, and Paul Bonett chair of the Education Business Parternship.
FabLab Brighton will be a workshop space containing machines and equipment (such as laser cutters, vinyl cutters, sewing machines and 3D printers) to provide widespread access to contemporary making and invention.
FabLab Brighton’s aim is to be accessible to all in the community from business to education: From school kids through to University students, inventors, businesses, creatives and entrepreneurs; empowering them to turn their concepts and ideas into reality.
The IGT has been a strong support for innovation companies in the area, and is involved in this event to pass on contacts and information for the future, including FabLab Brighton.
There are some more details about the event and information on how to sign up, in the attached PDF. OR you can go straight to http://fablabbrighton.org/launch/ and fill out the form.
Please do pass on the information to your contacts and colleagues who you think may be interested. It would be great if you could make it!
