Member Success at Public Service Awards

The Federation of Disabled People is delighted to announce its success in winning in two categories at the recent Brighton & Hove Public Service Awards 2009.  These new City-wide awards celebrate the work of local public services and volunteers.

The Federation of Disabled People won the Public Service Award and our Accessible City Guide won the Best Community Initiative.

Geraldine DesMoulins, our Chief Officer said:  "What an achievement and wonderful recognition of the staff, management and volunteer teams at the Federation and their dedication and hard work in providing a service that we and the whole City can be proud of.  Thank you to everyone who supported us.”

The Federation of Disabled People is a user-led organisation that promotes independent living for all, through its many projects and services.

The Accessible City Guide is an on-line information Guide to accessible places to go in Brighton & Hove.  It’s accessed through our website www.bhfederation.org.uk
