New Arenas Event Series at the AMEX stadium

Albion in the Community
(the charitable arm of Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club) and the Universities of Brighton and Sussex are delighted to announce details of the next event in their “New Arenas” Series at the new American Express Community Stadium.

The second event in the New Arenas Event Series: How can sport improve community and public health? Will be held at the AMEX Stadium on Tuesday, 22nd November 2011, 9am-13.30pm.

The half-day seminar will explore what can be done together to improve practice, inform policy and develop valuable projects. This event will involve short presentations from key note speakers Professor Jo Doust (Head of University of Brighton’s Chelsea School of Sport) and Stuart Christie (Head of Health at Albion in the Community) and a speaker working in Public Health locally to help describe the current terrain, followed by discussion and networking.

The aims for this event are to develop policy, research and practice in the use of sport to address public health issues, and to promote networking to inform future learning about practice and project development.

This event is free of charge and all are welcome
