The 'Being the Boss' Breakfast, 25th November 2011

Kate Peach has worked for Early Years Childcare for the last 18 years, rising from the most junior position to nursery manager, then all the way up the company's ranks to become Managing Director in 2010. Kate now manages nine day nurseries across the South East - including two in Brighton and Hove - and employs around 350 staff.

Led by her strong belief in the importance of high standards of childcare and a huge passion for the industry's issues, Kate chairs two branch networks for the National Day Nurseries Association and has also led national campaigns for change on issues that affect childcare provision, consulting with other providers and engaging with government at a local and national level.

Along her successful business journey, Kate has learned a lot about retaining friendships throughout hirings, firings and promotions whilst earning colleagues' respect as a manager. At this inspirational breakfast, Kate talks about the challenges presented by working with friends and what makes a brilliant boss.
