Behind-the-scenes: Future tech at University of Sussex

The University of Sussex has a long tradition of experimentation and innovation that has made a real difference to many people’s lives both locally and worldwide.

The university is always open to visitors but are especially pleased to offer Brighton Chamber members an exclusive Behind-the-scenes tour of their future tech labs and an opportunity to get hands-on with Quantum - the computer that could change our lives.

Discover technology you can touch and smell but not see and see the university's state-of-the-art Bloomberg Financial Markets Lab in action.

At the end of the tour enjoy drinks and networking at the Attenborough Centre and appreciate the modernist architecture of Sir Basil Spence.

Please note there will be some walking involved in this tour - please wear comfortable shoes!

Event timings:

16:45 Meet at Jubilee building atrium. We will have a welcome chat in G30 Jubliee and a demo of the Bloomberg Trading Floor from students.

17:30 Walk to Future Technologies lab where colleagues and students from Engineering and Informatics will demonstrate some of the exciting new developments around Sensory technologies; AI and robotics

18:00 Visit to Quantum lab - the computer that could change our lives: Sussex scientists have invented a ground breaking method that places the construction of a large scale quantum computer within reach of current technology – come and find out how, quiz our experts and see this technology first hand

18:30 Drinks reception at the Attenborough Centre – join us for drinks and networking at the Attenborough Centre for Creative Arts
