Brighton Gin (Brighton Spirits Company)
Brighton Gin is a small-batch distilled, super-premium gin, hand-made from beginning to end, down to each bottle being hand-labelled and waxed in the colour of Brighton's iconic seafront railings. Producers Kathy Caton and Helen Chesshire use 100% British organic wheat grain as their base spirit, which is then re-distilled with botanicals including juniper, fresh orange and lime peel, locally-grown coriander seed, and milk thistle (which is good for liver function, allowing one to de-tox and re-tox at the same time, so to speak!).
Brighton Gin is produced from the city's first (legal!) distillery, in batches of no more than 250 bottles at a time. Proving that size isn't everything, in the fourteen months that Brighton Gin has been in the market it has won double silver at the International Wine & Spirits Challenge, been named in the top ten gins of 2015 by both The Sunday Times and The Spirits Business. You can sample Brighton Gin - smooth enough to sip neat over ice, or fabulous as a classic G&T with Fever Tree tonic and a slice of orange to bring the fresh orange botanical to the fore - at many pubs and restaurants around town, or buy a bottle to take home from one of our fabulous local independent suppliers - see www.brightongin.com for details of all our stockists. Cheers!
