During challenging times for businesses of all sizes, and in all industries, it’s imperative that you understand how to position your business for maximum success in a crowded, competitive marketplace.  Join us for a one-off, half-day bespoke masterclass with founder of top business consultancy, Chrissy Totty, and learn how to improve your positioning. 

Chrissy has over 14 years’ experience working in media, innovation and communications both for agencies and consultancy side. Having begun her career in communication strategy, she worked with brands such as Three, AMEX, Burberry, Coca-Cola, 20th Century Fox and Mini.  She then moved into innovation consultancy, helping companies such as Diageo, Danone and Facebook solve business challenges and develop new ways of thinking around their products, services and ways of working.  Now Chrissy runs her own consultancy business, The Big Thinks, which takes a practical approach to ensure strategy and insight is always linked to action.  

What To Expect

This half-day session will cover the ways that positioning can go wrong for a business, how to avoid these pitfalls and improve the way you tell your business’s story in the marketplace.  An interactive, hands-on session involving group and individual activities, guided throughout by Chrissy.

You will receive key questions and tools to help you work out how to sharpen your current positioning or thinking.

Using tools and techniques, we will examine:

  • Who are your target clients/customers really?

  • What are their specific challenges?

  • Which of these challenges does your business solve really well? How do you do this?

  • Who then are your current competitors? And future competitors?

  • How are you currently different from these competitors? 

By the end of the half day workshop, you should be:

  • Clear who you’re writing your positioning for, armed with a tool to think about different types of clients/customers

  • Clear on what you are and what you’re not as a business, with a slider tool to help you think about this

  • Clear on your competition, with a simple tool to help you map their positioning versus your business  

  • A longform starter for 10 on your positioning, with some positioning statement templates to work with

About the Great Little Events Company

The Great Little Events Company is run by Georgina Burrows, a event organiser with nearly a decade's experience in London's media and advertising industries. Having worked with Google, Facebook, Apple, Burberry, BMW, Unilever, Mullen Lowe, Vizeum, Heinz, Dentsu Aegis and McCann Erickson amongst others, she relocated to Brighton and set up the Great Little Events Company, where she works with various clients as a consultant and event director on a wide array of projects.  She specialises in bringing top class speakers and workshop leaders to Brighton and is passionate about providing opportunities to learn and gather inspiration from other entrepreneurs and business leaders. Georgina is also the proud founder of the 9% Event - smart networking and inspirational evenings for women.

Need to know:

- The numbers for this session are strictly limited, to allow plenty of contact time with Chrissy, therefore early booking is essential

- Arrival from 1:30pm with refreshments provided, the session will start at 2pm and conclude at 5pm
